2004 Commerical, this car has the usual ABS, TC and Hill Desent problem.

Porblem is we can't get them to go away. It always comes up as Left hand rear sensor fault. The hub has been changed and also the sensor. still no change. The sensor was also changed over from the right hand but still no change.

We found out about the wiring modification for the ABS sensors. Wired in the new sensor all the way to the module thinking this will solve all the problems. Ha how stupid could we be, Still the same problem. We have even tried a different module but again still no change.

Surly we have ran out of things to change on the car? Can anyone suggest anything else to try before we use the disco as the foundation of a very large bonfire.

Hi, have you constantly been reading the code again and again after you've done all these things?.... o just once then done the jobs and the problem is that the amigos are still on?... and did you read the fault code from the replacement ECU too and still the same? that's important to know... if the answer is yes then in the second plug (C0504) of the ECU pin 12 there's a black wire(pure black do not mix them)...splice in with a good earth from somewhere in that wire.... if the answer to my questions is no and you didnt read the codes often read the code again cos there could be something else...what scanner did you use?

Hi Sierraferry I was hoping you'd help out,

Yes the code has been cleared every time then the car has been taken fot a test run to check everything is ok. we've been using a Fault mate to read the codes.

I'll give the earth wire a try and see what happens.

just confirm you've got the same fault code with the other ECU too and the sensor hardwired to ECU?...if yes and as you'll get anyway to the ECU, inspect the pins in the plug which connects the input from that sensor with the ECU cos there's the only place where the connection might get lost then

you could try using a different diagnostic tool, some will just give codes and others will also give the fault, I had the 3 amigos up on mine not so long ago plugged in my hawkeye to diagnose and got code 4085 l/h rear intermittent sensor output during driving, broken wire, with this kind of diagnosis was an easy fix then cleared the fault codes and all is good.
