Something worth noting, I think.

There's a small lane in Derbyshire, pretty insignificant, quite steep, short and a bit twisty between trees so a small challenge for some, especially driven uphill at the exit onto the B6521 due to a step, but it's been under attack. However, we have made a small victory as described in the following piece from Peak District Vehicle User Group.

As also noted, the fight isn't over ....

Well done, you made a significant difference, thank you.
‘You’ are those people who sent in UEFs and emails during the Derbyshire CC consultation into the status of ‘The NCH between New Road and Main Road in the Parish of Grindleford’.
Trailwise reference is SK2376-02
An activist based in Skipton, North Yorkshire, made an application in 2013 that this NCH should be Defined as a Bridleway, supporting her application with an argument based on her interpretation of historical documents.
DCC did their own historical research, and also launched a Consultation.
‘Following the consultation exercise, in addition to the user evidence forms, a large number of representations were received, chiefly in the form of emails’ from vehicular users of the NCH. All were arguing against the possible definition of the NCH as a Bridleway.
‘Letters and emails were also received from supporters of the claimed route being recorded as a public bridleway’, these were classed by DCC as ‘from horse riders'.

In the view of the DCC Officers the historical evidence did not strongly support any particular Definition for the route, so the motorists user evidence was influential in persuading the DCC Officers to recommend that the NCH should be defined as a Byway Open to All Traffic (BOAT). On Monday 26th Feb 2018 the Committee accepted the recommendation.
The route thus continues to be legal for motorised use, but the game isn’t over yet.
The Applicant was at the meeting, making a supplementary presentation. She also declared her intention to object to the decision, thus initiating a Public Inquiry. In the normal way of these matters, it will be some months, maybe over a year, before this happens.
However, it is clear that it is to our advantage that the initial decision was in our favour, so thank you again to all those who took the trouble to send in their views."

So her reason to class it as a bridle way is what? Too many motors?
