Hi all

Anyone know of a guide showing how to change the sedimentor on my 200 TDi? I have been running a veg oil mix, for 2 tanks now, and want to give it a clean up with some paraffin

Just did mine today, very easy if a little messy - diesel down me armpit....just like last time! Just brush the muck off a bit, 11mm spanner on the top, pretty simple, I didn't change the seals - again like last time. Blanked off me EGR, changed fuel and air filter. Very noticeable difference driving it now, revs cleanly up to 4000+rpm instead of just over 3250-3500ish. Nice improvements for an hour or so's faff about.

Don't try to undo the plastic plug on the bottom it WILL break. defo worth doing quite regularly especially if you're running on veg.

The sedimenter is fastened to the chassis, on the inside, just in front of the rear offside wheel. Looks like a filter housing.

hi paul
did you manage to get it sorted?

Hi mate

Had a luck at it, but ran out of time because i had to clean water from headlight (sunk at pay n play) and mess around with the aerial.

When i fiddled around I coudln't see this illusive 11mm bolt on top mentioned, but sure i'll find it with some harder looking. Did undo the drain plug and no water came out, straight fuel dripped out.

If i aint done it i'll bring the 11mm bolt to next club meet! You can show me while i send the wife to the bar to buy you a pint!

Gonna have a look laters

But let me get this right.. U undo the Nut at the top ? let it run out.... & why am I doing this

It's an 11mm bolt on the top of the assembly, undo it with a ring spanner or you'll regret it later.

Once the bolt is fully undone, have a catch tank ready (I use a 2ltr ice cream box) to collect the loose diesel as you take the bowl off the assembly for cleaning.
