A different TD5 air suspension problem

Hi all,

Have not found any other thread that describes my air suspension problem.

My TD5 randomly deflates more on one side. The difference is it only happens when I usually leave it parked on an uneven ground.

Deflation also happens when I sit on the rear bumper and the engine is off. It sometimes will not inflate again for several days, then when I totally give up; the rear air bags inflate on engine start-up.

I noticed one side is always affected more than the other. The vehicle will stay inflated indefinably if not used, this can be up to 2 weeks sometimes.

Have checked both air bags. Its also had a new compressor 28,000 miles ago.

I had similar when i was on uneven ground and also when getting into the boot it would drop. Also it would drop over speed bumps and not re inflate. Soloution to that was to stop, switch off for at least 2 min then re start. The cause was a leaking o/s air bag. The soloution was to replace.. All is now well.

Have ordered a new air bag today. Did not think it was the air bag as it does not go down over night or when left for long periods.

Will try anyway
