After suffering problems with the Disco for a week or so now, I finally figured out that it was the alarm 'spider' and located and removed the offending item today. Whilst I was at it, I also re-soldered the circuit board.
So, all fixed then? Erm, nope.
The way I see it is that this is only a tempory fix. Sure, it might last a couple of years, maybe more, maybe less, I don't know.
So, with this in mind I have decieded to junk the factory fit alarm / immobilisor for a TOAD CAT-1 instead.
The only trouble is that I cant find any info regarding the wiring diagrams for the central locking. I have tried Google, including putting in the alarm module part number, my local LR dealer, and the Haynes manual, but no joy.
Now, I realise that issues of security can be delecate, so in order to try and give you chaps peice of mind that I am not a tea leaf, I will include links to my Pistonheads profile, (many from South Yorks / North Derbyshire and many of the TVR lot can vouch for me on there), and my muddywheels.com profile.
On here steptoe ray has met me a couple of times also.
