I know the vehicle can tow 3.5 tonne but is my hitch suitable?
I cannot find a rating on the frame or ball/pin or casting.
Any ideas if this is suitable or does it need replacing with one that has a rating plate?
Cheers!

If in doubt, swap it out! It’s probably fine, some have markings, some don’t. I don’t know the legalities, but I’d get a new one for peace of mind.
I think you re right. I have been looking at the new ones but they don'y seem to have the sprung loaded locking tab. The pin removes from the centre or is off set.

Have to say, I’ve never seen that setup before, looks interesting.
It was seized when I got the Landy, but I managed to free it off. It looks in good condition, it just does not have a rating plate.
If I can find a replacement, I will be on it like a shot :)

Does the ball / pin have an R-clip retainer at the bottom or does it just reply on the sprung clip to hold it in place?
I ask as I had a similar hitch on my S111 SWB V8 back in the 1980's. On that the sprung clip was a bit stiff and unbeknown to me hadn't locked properly and 20-miles down the road I lost the trailer.
Swopped it for a "proper" hitch immediately afterwards.

It relies on the sprung clip. Thanks for the heads up!!!!
