hi can anyone help please. I’ve got my first discovery 4 and with 3 children who have a very active social life I’m always being asked to give lifts. So I’ve just managed to get 6th and 7th rear seats, went to put them in and there are some bolts in some of the holes I need to use. Any ideas how to undo these???

Hammer plus a punch, small Stilsons, drill a hole in the top and use an Easy-out stud extractor are just three methods I’d try. It they are important then they will need replacing possibly or use an alternative.

Might seem silly but they look like plastic.
Sure they are not just caps to keep the threads clean.
They may just pull out with pliers or undo like a nut with pliers or mole grips?

They are Kinmar Bolts or a version of, so one way, its just brute force to remove, i've never seen a tool to remove them.

Some are 2 way (removable)
Socket is about £18 but that's each and there are different sizes.
So if they are not plastic it's just brute force as previously stated.

Looks to me like anti-tamper bolts designed not to be taken out precisely because there are no seat belts fitted. So OP needs to get the belts as well as the seats. Wonder if she did?
Indeed not sure, plus other reasons on the D4 because conversions like this can be refused by ins companies

If the vehicle was ever designed to have the last row of seats fitted, which it was, and if they were fitted correctly, including seat belts and airbags if such need fitting too, and if a LR dealer can certify that there is no difference and everything has been properly done, then I don't see how an insurance company can cut up rough. The only thing to do is to get the V5 to reflect the change in number of seats before going for a quote.

My Disco 4 has seats 6 and 7 installed including seat belts which are in the side panel. So I take it they should be able to.
