Hello, wondering if anyone can help me. My 53 plate disco dash has various lights out when doing bulb test. Namely 'ACE M & S' - Hi/Lo Range and Diff Lock Warning. Are these replaceable bulbs ? could it be a fuse with so many out ?, and does it mean if a fault occured i would get no warning ?. Also the odometer does not tell me what gear i am in (auto box). I do know what gear im in - just if its fitted i'd like it to work!. Quite a lot i know but any advice appreciated, Thanks

They aren't bulbs - they are surface mount LEDs soldered to the board and are very very unlikely to break.

If they don't light, it might be worth dismantling the panel - the crook I bought mine off had ripped the LEDs off the board to stop them indicating faults that were present. However, do you actually have ACE? Plus, how are you doing the bulb test you mention?

If ACE light doesn't come on, I'd be highly suspicious that somebody has removed it.... (you can disable it using nanocom as well).

Alternatively (and less destructively) somebody could put a bit of black tape over the inside of the dash underneath the black 'foil'...

Either way, time for more investigation...

I would get it checked with a diagnostic tool to make sure the vehicle is configured correctly before pulling it apart

Its quite possible "someone" has messed around with Nanocom or similar and re-configured the vehicle to a manual box with no ACE as the BCU can be "iffy" when writing to it.

There is no Hi/LO range light, and there is no "test" for the difflock warning light either, that only works when the difflock is engaged "if" you have one, If you do have one then you will have HI / LO - Difflock embosed on your transfer lever, if thats the case move the lever to the right to engage the difflock and the light should come on.

....'ACE M & S' - Hi/Lo Range and Diff Lock Warning.

Of course first thing to do is what Mr. Panzer said but if no joy with the scanner then check the connections to the instrument pack coz the feeds for these lamps are through common connectors: ACE and Transfer box > C0233; M & S and Difflock > C0230 ...... could be just a bad contact
