L322 4.2 SC VVT query

Just wondering if anyone knows if a non vvt 4.2 SC engine (from a Jaaag) can be adapted to have vvt from a 2006 Range Rover without changing the heads? Reason for asking is that a second hand engine for the rangey is around £2500 and a Jag version is much cheaper. I thought it may be a case of installing the vvt timing gear, front cover, cams, cam covers, sensors, etc........?
The engine will be coming out as it was toasted, and I have to change the sump etc anyway.
I have tried trolling the internet to find this info but can’t see anything anywhere.
Any advice on whether this can be done would be great! :)
 
Thanks Mark, to be honest I don’t want to spend £2.5 - 3k on it, so this is a money saving exercise more than anything. If I could get a 4.2sc engine at the same price then I wouldn’t bother doing the conversion!
They don’t seem to be available at decent prices.
If I go ahead with it, I will share the pics etc.

I've tagged @myfirstl322 ,if I remember correctly he had a SUPERCHARGED. he may be able to advise. :D:D
 
Yes, thanks. There is a naturally aspirated vvt version in the Jaguar, but the earlier Jaguar 4.2 supercharged engines did not have vvt. I think this was from 2002 onwards.
The Range Rover 4.2 sc has vvt from 2006 and I would like to think that the Jaguar 4.2sc non vvt has the same block and heads. I can’t seem to get part numbers for both types to check this though. :(
