Hi, I reciently purchased a discovery 300tdi as my 200 died bigtime on the mot (does anybody want it? cheep? sills rotten etc)

does anybody have a definitave guide to:

wireing up the rear door amp and sub to a aftermarket headunit fitted with RCA pre-outs

and using the dash-pod mounted Radio controls with a aftermarket headunit!!

Thanks, Chris

whats a submarine doing in a disco?
why havent i got one?
go on tell me agin, ive got the poverty model.

there are 2 wire is the head unit end, if I remember corectly one red and one black (left and right). they will probably be on one of the multiblock connectors. If you connect jutst the colour to the tip of the RCA the subs will work. You dont need an audio earth as it uses the commone earth.

The RCA out of the headunit is a line level not speaker out and there is an amp mounted on the back of the subs in the boot.

Before you go to all the effort make sure that the speakers work as they often get over driven and blow or freez. You can check this by taking off the cover and gently pushing the cone slightly, there should be free movement with no scratching or sticking.

This may sound a bit odd but bear with me!!

the disco faild mot on inner and outer sill's and the radius arm bushes!
the rest is not too bad... the engine is fab starts first turn of the key etc But

b4 the mot i fitted a 2" lift kit from padocks (yellow britpart springs and white procomp shocks) i fitted it and the droxe approx 25miles b4 the mot, also the the tyres are nice big technics nobbly mud tyres.

so i really want £550 so i can go buy the same suspention for my 300.
i could remove the suspension and wheels you can have it for £100 but you will need wheels and a trailler to get it home!!!
Hope this is ok! I just want to get it out of the way!!
Let me know if this is any good!

Chris
