hiya peeps.
just a question for you pple who know.
any one know anything about these kits?
300Tdi Engine Upgrade From 2.5 Litre To 2.8 Litre

just seen it on ebay and was just wondering what they are using, pistons and crank?? what they from anyone know?

cheers ian

i was only asking about pistons and crank as i done a yamaha yz 250cc years ago,
went from 250cc to 300cc and it was a suzuki jetski piston that i used and diff head, so them pistons and kit must be just from another motor and i bet under half the price? u see where i coming from

yep i agree....loads of money, if brought that way.
but what i was trying to find out is what the pistons where made for origanly.
if they were for a pajero 2.8 ( lets say),,,then the pistons would only cost lets say £200.
can you see where im coming from?

piston are aluminium alloy

The kit is based around the international 2.8 so rings, rods, pistons are international along with the bearings and the crank is a reground to 300 mains to make it all work

Did you find any definitive answer to this thread?

Am rather curious myself at the moment due to deciding to get a 300Tdi lump to re-build as a winter project to go in the D1 at a later date so why not build it bigger and better?

Let us know your findings ;)

Sounds a really good idea but, seems odd that you can just change the pistons, crank and machining. I'd also expect some significant changes to fuelling (injection system, CAC, and turbo) and can the transmission handle the additional torque?
