Arghh dripping fluid particularly on full lock, cannot see where exact leak is. What's the most common point of leak, pump itself or one of the pipe/unions.

How big a job to replace the pump (time wise)?

there is a thread on the SAME PAGE called 'paddocks steering.......fit one at your perril' with basically the answer to that exact question :)

I was asking about the steering pump, not steering box. On the subject of a leaking steering box, I had a similar experience years ago on a RangeRover with a Paddock recon box, leaked worse than the original, however no qu asked replacement. Have found Paddocks extermely good, this is the only problem over many years of using them and quickly sorted.

no you didnt, you asked where the most common leak was

As the user name suggests , I'm still cutting my teeth on landys :) it's not a hard job. I did mine last weekend, took about 1hr 30mins. 30 mins was trying to find my 17mm spanner and get the high pressure union off:)

Got my new pump from paddocks £ 50 or so, fast delivery and no probs so far.

Check the low pressure pipe (the one from the res, to pump) mine had a cheap jubilee clip) and was leaking from there.

Hope this helps
