i need to replace my rear exhaust on my 96 300tdi auto due to rust eating a great hole in the silencer so seeing as i need to replace i was thinking about a side exit modification :) has anyone on here had this done to there discovery ive seen them on dependers but not yet on a discovery,is there somewhere i can buy a suitable part and is it possible on a disco? before some of you smart alics respond with "do a search":D ive done one and nothing relevant come up which steers me to that it might not be possible or a good thing to do

not many replies :( decided to go for a steel flexi pipe option, stainless tail pipe,a nicely cut hole in the side covered by a alloy tax disc holder:D just got to work out how to hold it all in place but will post pics as soon as its done ;)

Got mine via TD5 alive (mine is a 300 tdi)

Full ss side exit 2.5 " end with single box, decatted and even proper flexi pipe

hope youve got a good mate to help you with a big angle grinder keep out of car washes and it wont rust up also who makes dependers is that the new tata range :D:D:D:D:D:D muddy all the way

finally got round to doing the exhaust with help from a disco owning neighbour(who likes to keep his all nice and shiney :D) so heres a couple of pics of our effort ,and it actually runs better and believe or not a little quieter  de cat is next on the list maybe done over the easter weekend

did you slip with the drill cos i can see a great big scratch from the exhaust across the lower pannel ? hehehehe shoulda used a bit of tape "!

no rattle as its fixed into the hole ,any movement and the flexi takes it up,been fine so far even on a long run like i said its running better and it cost around £20 steel flexi, stainless tail pipe, couple of clamps, and alloy tax disc holder (which i had already so add a fiver on) just a bit of cutting and manouvering and jobs a good un

and yes slipped with the drill  but the car is littered with greenlane scratches so it blends in :D will have to get the t cut out before eastnor comes up

ive got loads of flexi exhaust knocking around and clamps etc, unfortunately dont have any spare time knocking around at the min lol. maybe at weekend i will alter it and probably remove middle box at same time.
