Out laning and my disco started to overheat, refilled with water a few times then found a pinhole in a hose, cut it back and refilled then started knocking from timing case, got so far home then boiled it on a hill, steam everywhere.

Got it towed home and found knocking to be tensioner totally collasped.

had slipped 3 teeth on camshaft pulley and on on crank.

Fitted new timing kit and started it up, engine sounded ok but then realised it was kicking out loads of smoke from the exhaust!!

Could I have cracked the head or knackered the piston rings? or could it be turbo? I took of pipe from intercooler to intake and theres not significant oil. Could oil be getting from turbo hot side straight into exhaust? there's some play in turbine but not totally shagged.

What's most likely? what should I check first?

I would bet it's the bearing/seal that's failed on the exhaust turbine side of the turbo that's allowing lube oil to escape into the exhaust tract and unto your garage wall. If the leak was anywhere upstream, the oil would be burnt in the combustion process with loads of smoke and would certainly not be expelled in liquid form as you're seeing with yours.
Just how much play have you got in the turbo?
