from averaging just over 400 miles to a tank of fuel its dropped to about 80 from a quarter of a tank!!!!

what are the first things to do, check replace??? it could be due a service but would that have such a profound impact on the mpg???

day off tomorow so quick advice on what to do would be great as i can't afford to keep burning £5 of diesel a day!

Change the fuel filter and empty the sedimometer. Have you changed your fuel fill up station?

How long you had it?

The more you get used to driving these vehicles the heavier your right boot becomes:eek:

mmm, about 8 months. and i do tend to be a little heavier with it but i wouldn't have thought it would make that much difference!

will do the oil, clean air filter etc. and see if that helps things

When I got our's I drove it like a right poof for the first tank full pottering around/short journeys and got back just over 500miles for 80litres!!!:) :)

Have noticed that once you touch 70mph consumption goes belly up and if you manage to wind it up to 90+ then it just goes mega stupid.

Firstly don't go off your fuel gauge, mine dunt move for the first 100+ miles when I fill it up,check for fuel leaks, new filters, oil change with GOOD oil (some people reckon they get + 2mpg from top quality oil),check your EGR valve & blank off, clean your inlet manifold and all pipes from inter cooler, will be full of crap if it's never been done thanks to your EGR!!!

Failing all that hand operate your excellerator with piece of foam pipe lagging.
