Hey all.

Right bear with me on this.

Bought a 300tdi ES Auto not running etc
Stripped it down, did the cam belt new oil seals etc. needed a new woodworth key alongside puddle welding to close up the massive chunk that was missing around the key.
Ripped out the AC System (Its Britain, will never need it lol)

Long story short, put it all back together & went to put the key in and fire her up for the first time since owning and nothing.. Got a pry bar on the starter and its turning over fine.
Notice that the key fob doesn't work at all.
Then noticed a light on the dash (looks like a car with a key inside it)
So i gather that is something to do with the key and immobilizer not syncing.

After atleast 30 turns of the key on & off it goes away & fires up (HAPPY DAYS)
Except that once i turn it off and try to start her up again it does it again so now have to flick the ignition on & off atleast 5 times before it will sort itself out.

Put a new battery in the key fob & nothing.
Also the windscreen wipers are constantly on... Even though they are turned off?

Any ideas on how to sort it all out or is it a case of ripping out the immobilizer & get it sent off to be programmed?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Well the the engine isn't immobilised is it if you can start it, seems u may have a starter solenoid or switch issue.
You do have to synchronise the fob to the ecu after battery disconnection or fob battery replacement.
Are there any unofficial wiring mods to the system U know of.?

With the wipers unfortunately it's time to start electrical fault finding the relay could be stuck, but as the wiper relay are switched by the MF unit u may have an issue there or an iffy wiper switch so a few of things to test.

Right, I'll stick it on a scanner next week and then have a good look round it.
The wipers do stop then start again so essentially its stuck in the slow position but think i may have a spare set of stalks knocking around.

As for the unoffical wiring, There are plenty of wires around the engine bay but none that pipe into any wiring harness, mainly from a few replays maybe to the battery connectors from what i can remember.
I will have to google on how to sync the fob unless my mate knows how to do it.

Well in that case it doesn't work as i must of pressed the fob a dozen times on each button, Central locking does work spot on via the key but would obviously like a functioning fob.
