Well, it appears that this morning my vac pump may have decided to go ooopsy.

on driving this morning brakes are darn difficult to push, no assistance.
foot on brakes , start engine , no give in pedal.
pull vac pipe off of servo, only a little vacuum felt on pipe.

So, having had a search, anyone got a recommendation for a new vac pump ERR3539 and gasketERR2027 ?

Cheers

I changed my leaking one for a used oem one, and its not been much bother since.

What im saying is, out of the ususal three options - britpart, oem, or used, i found used to be ok,

Mine came off a run-away engine, so it had probably had a fair work-out directly before i fitted it too!

OK, ordered a new one,

however it stated on LRdirect website that pump should be primed. Looked in workshop manual and cannot find anything to dowith priming the vac pump. Is this spurious info on the website or am I missing something?

Cheers

You wouldn't be able to "turn" it, and I dont think you can easily press in the plunger either, but I'm sure spraying some light oil about it, and running slowly on startup would work.

The engine mine was off finished its life due to lack of lube and the pump is still OK, so I dont think they're that fragile.

As above, I thought changing the pipe, as a first port of call, would be way cheaper especially as it's not unknown for them to crack or as said collapse .. :)

Blimey,

that is a good point, do you remember the ( internal ) dia of the pipe? if not no worries, I will have to take it off anyways,

cheers

Sorry I don't, I just cut a bit off, went to auto parts centre and got a metre .. ;)
