300 tdi upper rear parking lights dont work

Hi, I have just bought a nice 300tdi with 60lk on the clock which is running really well but has a problem with the rear parking lights. The ones inset into the rear bumper are fine but the ones in the upper light cluster dont work even though the bulbs are fine and the wiring is in place (or appears to be).

I know this is a silly problem with the discovery II as for some reason land rover decided not to connect them up on some models or years, as everything seems to be place could anyone please tell me how to connect the wiring to get them going.

You don't say what model year your 300 is, the 'general rule' is 96MY and 97MY had tail lights and indicators in the body and bumper 95MY and 98MY didn't only in the bumper.

So if everything is in place ie bulbs then it's a matter of tracing the wiring behind the lamp fittings and the multi plug for power earth must as the other lamps wouldn't work.

as said above its just the brake lights and fog lights that are up top
