Found the engine oil leak today, power wash all underneath and then wait for the drips.
It is the sump that has been bodged with what looks like araldite over rust, now leaking beside the previous stuff.
Need another sump but cannot post in wanted as not enough something or other to post there.
What is the best sealant for the joint, one that has been used by you and works 100% with no leaks.
Lastly anyone got a decent 300 tdi sump and can post it.
Nice to find the leak and good to know it is nothing serious.
:)

Thanks, i am looking at the other end of the market.
Scrappie ebay or weld it.
Second hand is the price range.

Thanks for the info.
I just got one on ebay £30 plus postage of £10.
Excellent was the description.
Got to the shed today to park up the Classic and the sump let go just as i parked it, 11 miles.
Big puddle underneath and now drainage tray is full.
Sun was shining on me today :)
Big rubber rocker cover makes a big difference, a lot of noise without it and engine note changes to more of a diesel clatter.
