Hi Guys,

I parked up my 300TDi Disco about 6 weeks ago as I SORN the vehicle whilst I get some welding repairs done.

Come to start it today and nothing! :(
It seems it won't engage the starter motor.

First i thought battery may have given up due to the bad weather - tried jump leads from my company car, still nothing non even a click to say the starter is engaging.

I also am having problems locking the car from the drivers door and am wondering if this problem has antivated an immobiliser through the on board alarm. The remote fob is knackered too, but may be repairable.

Any suggestions greatfully received

Cheers

If you have armed the immobiliser by locking with the fob, you'll need to enter the EKA code to disarm the immobiliser i think...

Just out of interest, what gearbox do you have? Auto?

What is the EKA code? And how do I enter it?

you should have a card in your manual that has a four? digit number which you input through turning the key in the drivers door lock with a combination of left and right turns... this is also explained in your manual - i've never actually done it so i'm not entirely sure how it's done

its a code you have to enter on the drivers door lock. its like a safe you know? three clicks to the left and four to the right so on and so on my disco has the same set up. if you dont have the code its a bugger to sort unless you can sort the fob. hope this helps Marc.
