Usually they will shift just by giving the shaft a tap downwards, or if reusing the pump a lump of wood on the side casing...
I managed to get the old pump off today ! I put an edge on an old wood chisel and gave it several good wacks .It didn,t want to come off but eventually it moved. All back on now.I used one of those grip tools for opening stuck jar lids on the pulleys to hold them still while I removed and replaced them.It worked a treat.Just got to fill up coolant now. Do I just remove the bottom hose on the rad to drain system or do I have to remove the plug on the block as well ?
No, he means the one between the bracket that the pump fixes to and the engine blockDo you mean the gasket that goes between the pump and the mating surface ?.If so , yes. I just smeared some silicone gasket on first.
