Hi all i have a 300tdi 1994 manual. I replaced the pads back in feb or this year, however they have gone already. Pads seem to have warn evenly on both ends of the axle, and there, doesn't seem to be any sign of a sticking calipar. My question does this pad ware seem a bit extreme to anybody. Pads fitted last time was mintex.
cheers all

You dont say the mileage you have covered.
The last time I used Mintex was back in my RRC days and the only lasted 8,000 miles less that a year they replaced genuine front pads at 45,000 miles.
So never again... I have aways used genuine pads until last year when I fitted EBC (half the price of genuine) and they seem ok but time will tell.

Would say that i've done about 4000 miles since last change. Replace front and rear at the same time. Fronts where mintex and the rears were lrb. The rears look like there gonna need a change in a month or two, but are a cheaper brand then mintex lol.

Brake wear can differ to what you do wih your motor, if you off road you may find that they wear quick, for example if you play at a place like Bures Pit, Essex, its an old sand pit and is abrasvie as hell, every one say that their Pads dont last long if they play there.

I just fiited a new set of Pads and have recently started playing there, so will know more as it happens.

Its the school run bus, and daily driver. Has been off road twice in 14 months. Discool and a friend of mine have both said about ebc So gonna look for a set of greenstuff next time. Had to use mintex this time as thats all i could get localy, plus was down to the backing plate as the pad had broken up :(

Just before you splash out on new pads, have you had a look at the condition of your brake discs? If they are in poor condition, they won't do brake pads any good, whatever make.
Agree with above regarding EBC pads Just got myself some EBC Ultimax, brakes improved a lot.
Better than the Mintex that were on before.

Ultimax they do grab dont they and I only have them on the front, I could never say that with genuine pads :D

Quite surprised at the cost £24 delivered not bad. However alot of them seem to be for vented discs. Mine are solid. Does this make a difference as to how easy can get these pads. I know there is a differece between vented and solid discs lmao
