Hot or cold some times starts first time ,somtimes requires cranking.Diagnostic check by two L/R specialist say there is nothing wrong.Positive battery to negitive coil with ignition off should give zero volts.I get full battery voltage. Any tips or suggestions.

hi if you are getting a voltage to the coil with ignition off sounds like your alarm spider could be going wrong.
What i have had in the past is 12v on turn on and engine wont start gone and checked voltage while cranking gone down to 6v,conneted 12v feed straight to coil and engine fires,i have had at least 6 v8s over the past year that have had this fault, the 12v feed comes straight from a relay i believe and the same relay gets its earth path from the alarm spider so completing the circuit when alarm is off and ignition on,dont know why but it only ever effects the ignition side and not the starter motor side.the easiest course of action and cheapest is to run a live feed straight from ignition 2 position so all power switches off to the coil and fuel side and buy passing the relay from alarm spider, the starter motor will still be immobilised or you could put live wire to hidden switch i hope this helps, tiga

Thanks for replying.Conected wire from battery + to coil - .Turned starter ,engine did not start.
