I have a 200tdi and at the mo i have 265 75 16 insa special tracks fitted, im thinking of going for some 285 75 16 on -30mm offset modulars with some extended arches. Im not too worried about rubbing as with the 265's if they rub on something ill cut it off. My main worry is the gearing, so is anyone out there running this size tyre with the standard disco transfer box and how do they find it.
Cheers steve

I had a chat with the local 4x4 garage about moving up to the 285/70R16. They said don't as they will eat wheel bearings and that I should go with the 265 instead.

mate has them on his disco

he carrys spare wheel bearings/half shafts and cv joints with him all the time, he told me he goes through a wheel bearing every few months. And it is very funny to watch him go round corners
