L322 2005 TD6 109000 miles. Transmission failsafe prog

Cars been a little jerky for a week or so and today has thrown up transmission failsafe prog. Error cleared and normal operation resumed by engine restart with no errors showing on diagnostics. Question is do you normally get error codes stored for this fault or should I be looking at something other than the gearbox/TC?

I did a gearbox service about 6 months ago (around 5000 miles) and judging by the swarf on the magnet it's the original box.

Advice please

Just been for a 12 mile drive and it's gone ok (for now). I'll drop some oil tomorrow and check the levels. And ring a gearbox specialist.

If your getting prices make sure the replacement box has a sonnex valve block fitted ( i think thats how its spelt)

Lost drive a couple of times while checking the oil so looks like it's time for a gearbox and TC refurb. Just gone off on a Green flag truck for some expensive love.
