Hi lads,

My brother has a 2003 TD4 freelander and he range me to tell me the main stealer has told him his injection pump had gone there looking for €1000 to replace it. i sourced a part from Island 4x4 Fuel Injector Pump TD4 Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order. is this the correct pump?

also i had a quick look on RAVE but dont see a firring guide for a TD4 only a petrol? anyone know where i can find it on RAVE?

It's the correct part # according to microcat and the add says for all Td4s......

Why the need to change it? if it's leaking you can get a seal kit from a Bosch agent....

im not sure if its leaking i think its failing to inject correctly. waiting to talk to the mechanic to get more info from him.

OK.....

Bear in mind, it's a simple high pressure pump to maintain pressure in the common rail not an old style injection pump.

Most issues are caused by low inlet pressure to the pump rather than the pump itself, or pressure escaping to the return line via excessive injector leak off, or sometimes via the 'o' ring seals on the pressure regulator.

i checked with a bosch specialist here in Ireland. €200 + VAT for the unit to be fixed so going that direction. thanks for the heads up much appreciated!!!
