Mornin' Guys & Gals...

2002, TD4, ES, 5 door.

Can anyone confirm that the operation of the tailgate widow on my F/lander is normal when using the switch on the centre console.
The window works as it should when using the door handle.
When the switch is pressed for "Open", the window goes from fully closed to fully open in one movement. If the switch is pressed whilst the window is moving-either open or close, it will stop but when the switch is released it will either fully open or fully close in one movement.
Can the window only be fully open or fully closed ? or can it be set as partially open, the same as the other windows.
My interpretation of the description in the owners handbook is that the window can be opened to any position by using the switch inside the car.

Has the mechanism/regulator ever been changed? Does it beep near the console when u press the window switch? Maybe worth looking into recalibrating the rear window.
I'm just about to change my whole mechanism as mine snapped. When I tried a repair kit, which failed, the motor acted oddly because I hadn't recalibrated the motor. When it did work I could place the the window where I wanted it so for urs to go down on one press i too would be questioning its operation?!!

2001 TD4,can be set to any position on the way down, however on the way up,if you let go of the switch it will go back down!!.

My 2001 V6 works exactly like this!!
Does your window drop if you hold the unlock button on the remote? It should.

Thanks for all the input Guys.....appreciated :)

I don't know if the regulator assembly has been changed during the life of the car as I bought it last December.
The mechanism has been calibrated and there are no "Beeps" etc. when the switch is operated. The window does what it should when opening & closing the tailgate and will travel smoothly fully open & closed when operating the interior switch without any signs of restriction etc.
If the window is fully open, it will return to the fully closed position when the key is turned in the tailgate lock.
I may get hold of another switch and try that for starters.
On a slightly different note, I noticed a small rust hole in the tailgate underneath the handle/latch assembly and I am looking at replacing the tailgate. I will at the same time when I do it, replace the regulator cable assembly as a matter of course. I have discovered whilst searching for replacement tailgates that rust holes are common underneath the handle....maybe this could be a possible cause of water leaks into the rear loadspace ??
