Hi its probebly me being a numb nut, but my horn has stopped working, and the cruise control wont set, though the indecator for the cruise control is lighting. Ive checked the obvious fuse under bonnet the relay Ive swapped out still no joy, anyone else had this happed or any ideas, if i connect the horns straight across the battery they work so i know they are ok...Its a mid 2001 td4 es... ..Help

do u have radio controls on steering wheel, do they work ?

sounds like you got no steering electrics
mabye broken wires or faulty rotary coupler

Funny Im on the rotary coupler at the moment yes the radio controls work but the cruise controls and horn buttons dont ive traced through the rotary coupler and have signals through next ill see if ive still got continuety down to the ccu onn the back of the main fuse box. thanks fer the help though any other ideas welcome...

Thanks minge yep really wierd, wire from pin 1 the firing pin on the relay is missing must be a broken wire in the loom. the switched negetive feed on the steering wheel is there both sides of the spiral conector, and the returns also. so the long and short of it is I've run a new wire to the horn relay from the spiral conector on the colum side. put it all back together this evening and I've got horns back, alarm is now working and the cruise control is working fine too so I'm mythed as to how it happend. but its fixed now, and I'm destressed abit...

tell that mutt if it gets the horn again I'll stick im in neutral;)
