200 tdi oil pressure

Hi all - ive asked this in the past with no real positive response - just want to try again before I resort to stripping it down - 200 tdi with 150k - has about 6 - 8 psi at tickover when hot and warning light flickers - pressure up to 30 - 40 psi at 1500rpm. Have replaced mains and big ends - oil pump clearances all to spec when i checked, relief valve spring replaced. Engine sounds noisy in cam dept to me. It has run for 5k like this with no noticeable change - its just a nuisance when bimbling on lanes at tickover
Anyone any suggestions what to check?

my old 200 did the same thing when it was hot. was fine for 2 years until it ran a big end bearing. rebuilt it with new crank, cam, shells and a new oil pump and drive shaft and oil pressure was back to about 20-25 at idle.

Thanks for that - so by a process of elimination its either my oil pump or something in the cam area?

i believe there were issues with cam bearings slipping giving similar symptoms,so mite be worth a look
