Hi, Been offered +2" Bearmach HD springs for £50 used but only done a few hundred miles and as I need new springs I was wondering if I could use my standard shocks with them for a while till I can afford extended shocks?
Also as they're off a 90 so would they fit a Disco 1.. I assume they'd just be a bit harder?

You can but your shocks will be bottoming (well, topping) out 2" earlier. If its for the short term (weeks) I cant see an issue but for long term I wouldnt want to do it like that...

You can get cheap shock extenders from ebay which will give you the extra 2" but personally I would get some proper shocks and some mounts whilst your at it, oh and brake lines will be needed along with extended bump stops...

Hmmm might just stick it out with soggy springs I think. Planning on it only being a. Few weeks but sods law something else will come up.

Thanks Jon

can't find the shock extenders on ebay. they go by another name?

Quite possibly but I have never used them myself so not sure. Its basically a threaded bar with male one end and female the other made at 2" long, any machine shop will make them for you, all you need is your thread size and pitch, not sure what it is on LR's off my head though...

Or get lowered shock mounts, you will want them in time anyway so why waste money...
