2.8td engine

Hi I'm new to the site but not new to the landrover having a s11,s3 and 3 defenders plus brought a old lightweight and fully restored it to original,but what I would like to know is I have a 2.8td in my 90 out of a diahatsu what are the pro,s and con,s of having this engine ,if any ?

Know a guy who has this in a series 2 says its a flying machine and will easily do 120 mph guessing its not a standard drivetrain probably more refined and I would assume it has less mileage than a typical tdi or td5 so should be more reliable (though my 300tdi has yet to let me down) on the other hand I would say it would be more complicated and some insurance companies wouldnt like it

Look after it, change oil regularly and it'll last forever, good on fuel too
