hiya

In the D3 and RRS the 2.7 TDV6 are single turbo , the 3.0 litre is twin turbo, normally called a SDV6 which stands for sequential , fitted in D4s and later RRS

alas don’t know if the jag engines are twin turbo unless they mean the 3.0 litre

hope that helps

Land Rover is single turbo IIRC Jaguar is Twin BECOZ POWAH!! ;)

It is a PSA Unit,

The TDV8 is a ford unit codenamed "lion" ;)

thks for clearing that up, surely though the twin turbo jag engine won’t fit the RRS or D3 because of the electronics

know the 2.7 can be used but needs everything swapping over

A guy i know has had a jaguar engine 2.7 fitted into his 2.7 RRS due to crank failire so had to.replace engine just wondering how it fitted if the jag has twin turbo and RRS single.turbo

the 2.7 S type jag as far as I’m aware is a single turbo , as indeed that can be fitted into the RRS and D3

unless of course all the manifolds etc is also req to be changed

Know all the electronics have to be swapped over

@Henry_b , hi mate , so is the S type jag twin turbo’d plse , as I know that can be fitted in the RRS and D3 with everything swapped over

S type is twin turbo Definately. Same block and heads but intake is totally different
Even the 3.0 block is the same as far as I'm aware.

bless u for that

so must take all the intake off then to swap it over to fit into a RRS/D3

know there’s also a difference with HP fuel pump between the EU3 and EU4 , later one runs higher speed so injectors have to also match

ref the SDV6 3.0 I’m not sure to be honest , know the 3 litre has bigger bores and of course the twin turbos

The S type is Twin Turbo the XJ350/58 use the unit too, 'tis nice and quick in them./

You have to swap the manifolds IIRC>

You can't, but you can buy a cheap s type jag and take the block out and fit it to a d3 with the d3's own ancillaries and electronics.
Pick up a cheap s type for under 500 quid, a secondhand disco engine will likely be 5 times that much.

Plus 1 , indeed, that’s what many do with the S type by swapping everything over from the D3 inc sensors

recon disco engine are around £4-5k
