Hi, trying to get hold of a full set of Conrod bolts for the above rebuilding. Only 9 left in the country.. has anyone reused these bolts twice, RAVE says no, but now getting desperate.
(Or anyone got 3 in the back of a glove box anywhere..?)
Cheers

I may be wrong but I always thought the Bmw 2.5D used the same rods etc as the 4-pot 2.0D,

A friendly precision engine machinist would know, surely?

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-STC2110 or go to any BMW dealer and ask for con rod bolts for the 2.5 diesel.
Hi, thanks for coming back..
Rimmer bros only have 3 left..(why an odd number of 3..?) I have the last six that LR had. I tried our local BMW garage but As with all these things now, unless they have a car reg number they can't spot the part. I will try a second BMW dealer/ garage and give it another try.
Thanks again

Ok.. Now purchased all that exist..9 in the UK total. Will have to use what I can. Local engineering firm, who rebuild for a living say that they can be used twice.. but only twice, if not over tightened. Vauxhall and BMW can't source alternative parts without a car reg no. (Gone have the days of parts knowledge with suppliers any more). So, against all instinct, 9 are going in as new and 3 will have to hold their own. Not happy, but I can say.. I tried. Judge Me..!!

Have you tried ringing the Eurocarparts London number? I've found them to be very helpful in the past. Telling them it is the M51 engine should be enough. There's a place in Birmingham that is very good on odd Land Rover bits and bobs but damned if I can remember the name of the place. Tried this lot? http://www.shop4autoparts.net

If you still need some bolts, send me a message an I can look through the Bmw parts and check availability for you. 2.5tds has a lot of shared parts
