G'day folks,
In my (seemingly) never ending search for "the real bits" I have finally got a set of the old style - clamped with a bar - diesel injectors. I also got the studs and the clamps!
Boy was I happy...
...until I came to fit them to my newly sourced head.
It seems as though the more modern injectors (introduced in 1968 - see James Taylor book page 41) are of a smaller diameter.
######
Now I would have expected James Taylor to have also mentioned on page 41 of his book that the heads changed as well to accommodate the new injectors. (Because he is good like that!)
May be I'm cross eyed - may be I can't read - but it doesn't seem to mention this.
Cos it doesn't mention this, it makes me think perhaps I'm missing a trick and there's a liner in there that can be removed (even though I can't find that in the parts book)
######
Has anybody come across this problem before?
