Goes to me!!. bought tensioner and aux belt.
replaced belt tensioner, bought viscous fan spanner, made tool to hold while i tried to undo the nut. pushed spanner, whacked knuckles, pulled spanner whacked knuckles, hit spanner with hammer all to no avail nut would not come off. went in doors to thaw out and have a strong coffee, thought i would double check in the search to find any tips. found a brilliant tip undo the nut the correct ****ing way. (sure someone on here said it was reverse thread).went out pulled spanner anti clockwise came off straight away.
Moral of the story, search's are good , my brain aint.
Happy new year.

your lucky when i tried to get mine off i had to pull the fan to bits so i could get stilsons in.. some **** had done it up that tight

mines a left hand thread but thought it was a right......luckily being especially thick I got confused and undid it the right way...(left?).....dint even realise until I went to put it back on

I did a search and found it was a left-hand thread.

I then spent almost an hour battering fnck out of the nut 'coz it was so tight.

Only when I looked at the replacement viscous fan that I found TD5's are normal right-handed threads, so had to batter double fnck out of it to loosen it, was just about to give up (almost destroyed the nut) only to try to turn the fan for one last go and it unscrewed in my hand - result.

yes theres a lot of duff info on the td5 i find.

with the right spanners its very easy to undo. and hand tight doing it back up aswell
