How difficult is it to fixl this leak? I tried using some gasket maker to see if it would temporarily stop it but still leaking. Please see pics and advise. Thanks for the help.

The leak is covered under the gasket. However, IF you look at the other side with no sealant. It leaks where the arrows point, it originates from that crevices. Any suggestions? See attached pic.

Sealent wont fix that, you need to wash it down to remove the diesel then take the thing apart.

Update. I got another spare pump just in case which I think I want to get fully overhaul. Anyway, my question is: Can i remove the pump without the timing tools? I read that in order to remove the pump I must utilize the timing pins. Is there another tool that I may use instead of this?

You’d need to open the front of the timing chest (small hole over pump sprocket), pin the sprocket in place and undo its center bolt. Then you could remove the pump from behind. If you don’t hold the pulley exactly in place you’d loose your timing and tension. Alternatively open the full timing chest.
