Disco 2 1998 All Doors Lock But not Unlock

1998 Disco 2. All the doors and boot will lock with the remote, but only the boot unlocks with the remote. When unlocking with the remote all doors make the clonking sound of unlocking but do not. This has always been like this since my son bought it a couple of years ago. I don't think single point unlocking is activated, but the doors still do not unlock even if I press unlock twice. Tried to lock all doors with key so not superlocked, but other doors do not lock. Can I assume that all door lock actuators are faulty even if they sound like they are working?????

Do they open if you use the unlock button on the dashboard ?

No they will not unlock from the C.D.L switch. I have now plugged in a second hand latch which will unlock, so it seems that I need to replace all of the latches. I am confused as to what makes the sound when unlocking with the faulty locks. I assume the actuators are trying to work, but are too weak to complete the task.

You assume well, you have to replace the actuators

Yes, a faulty one will happily sound like a good one... little feckers.
