1997 Defender 90 Earthing points

Morning,

Had a good search online,

Cant seem to find the earthing points,

Either I'm retarded or their encased in muck and rust and I just cant see them,

Suspect a bad earth making engine start-up trouble some,

Defender is booked in for MOT and a full service on the 01/10/13, would rather not spend money getting them to sort it out due to my incompetence,

Any help appreciated

97, presuming 300tdi.
gearbox and or chassis direct to battery.
bulkhead under bonnet to the right of the servo.
under the drivers seat, either direct to chassis, or mine were to the T/B

I found this when I was searching for mine:

Earth points on 90/110 prior to Td5 are

behind each of the front lights attached to the vertical panel of the inner wing -- may need to remove front lights to gain access or employ a electrically trained Octopus with very bendy arms.

on bulkhead adjacent to brake servo just inboard should have multiple Black earth wires on it.

in each rear corner behind the rear light cover panels inside the vehicle - I could not find these on mine (1995 110 CSW)

main battery earth to main gearbox/transfer box joint bolts

engine earth from PAS bracket area to rear face of left chassis part of engine mounting.

The main one is the battery-chassis- gearbox one. Just locate the battery under the front passenger seat and follow the earth cable underneath the car.

this is where there are variations.

mine doesnt have the one on the PAS to chassis, it has 2 direct from the batt, one to the chassis, one to the gearbox.

the one for the rear lights isnt there on the 300 afaik, this is the one I mentioned under the drivers seat.

mines a 96 110 CSW

when i say under the drivers seat, I mean under the vehicle at that side, that area...

Having trouble getting at what i think is the Gear box earth, will post pictures later to get advice from you lot

Gear Box earth is refusing to come loose, may of found my ignition problem source !

Just put a jump lead in its place to test it, no difference = not faulty
