1996 (N) V8i Jammed ignition

Hi the other night the ball and chain was just comin back from gettin her hair done when she put the key in the ignition and couldnt turn it, she assumed it was something to do with the steering lock and jiggled the steering wheel resulting in the steering lock now also coming on.

She phoned me to come and save her but by the time i got in the van she called back to say everything was sorted and she was on her way home.

Just wondering if this is something to look out for in the near future, a commmon problem and what are the usual remedies? cheers.

First lubricate the key with graphite and second always leave the steering wheel off centre so the lock doesn't engage, you should then be ok.
