Some more assistance please.

The display on my Radio/Cass player is knackered.

Looking on here it seems the best thing to do is send it to Clarion to get it repaired and get a ipod socket mounted.

The thing is: how do you get the radio out?

There is a screw either side of the radio (with fascia off).

I do have the docs etc but can't find any reference to removing the Radio.

I do not want to give myself more work and expense by doing the wrong thing, so I thought I'd ask first!

Thanks again.

Steve

If you phone the Clarion repair dudes they will explain in detail. I believe it involves carefully unclipping the surrounding trim and then using an extraction tool to pull the radio out. Unfasten the leads at the back and you're done.

In the absence of extraction tools, some people claim to have had success with junior hacksaw blades. (The tools are slender sticks with hooks cut out, enabling you to grab the radio around its lugs and pull).

Steve,

Out of interest how much are Clarion charging for the LCD repair and upgrade of an IPOD socket installed.

Did manage to remove my unit when doing Matrix O Seals with very thin screwdrivers very simple

Regards

Paul
