Right, I am putting this back on here as for the 3rd time now I have been let down by an eBay seller who once again never turned up, kinda fed up with it now.

I have copied the eBay advert again. I will add that the MOT is out in a few month, I know that it will pass with a few minor jobs, one of the small chassis repairs wants re-doing, a small credit card sized patch, it will want a drivers seatbelt (its frayed), a small exhaust repair and possibly 2 new headlights as theres moisture in there, other than that its good, if I MOT it then the price is going up over £3K, I simply don't have the time and could really do with the cash hence the price. This really is a good truck, uber reliable, upgraded in the right places, lots of extras like the HD bars e.t.c. This was never a pay and play smash about truck, I have taken care of it, I have improved it over what I started with and yeah theres plenty of odd sunday jobs to do but mechanically its spot on and it looks a beast.

Anyway, the original ad:

This auction is for my 1991 Land Rover Defender 200TDi. I bought this last year to replace my Discovery, I have been using it as a green laning vehicle although please don't think its an unloved off roader. Since I have owned this vehicle I have done lots to it to ensure its reliability and durability, being a mechanic by trade and having access to modern tools, ramps and equipment has helped in making sure this is a good 90. I bought this as a totally standard 200TDi except for it came with a suspension lift, steering guard and rock sliders, since I bought it I have done the following:

BRAND NEW Turbo fitted about 1000 miles ago.
New cam belt kit fitted 6 months ago.
New radiator, alternator, starter motor fitted withing last 6 months.
Silicon turbo hoses fitted.
Shortened and raised exhaust system fitted.
Fully serviced and checked through.
Oil pressure gauge and turbo gauge fitted.
Full wading kit incl. snorkel, axles, t/box, g/box & timing cover breathers, allows for safe wading at all manageable depths.
Transfer box replaced for a Discovery box - allows better cruising speeds and gives better MPG when on motorway driving.

300TDi Discovery axles fitted with stronger 24 spline diffs/shafts, discs all round and wider/stronger front arms
All handbrake components replaced and readjusted.
Front steering rods all upgraded to HD gear with new, quality, track rod ends fitted.
wide angle propshafts fitted front and rear.
new A-frame ball joint.
15" weller wheels with 31" INSA sahara turbos with 12-14mm tread left, these are regarded as one the best on road mud terrain tyres available, they give superb off road traction without the excessive road noise that is normally associated with MT tyres. I also have a set of 4 AT tyres which will be included with the sale.
Diff guards & Steering guard fitted.
Black sheep offroad rear HD crossmember (look this up, its a very heavy duty and regarded as the best in the UK by a long way)
WIPAC crystal front headlights
Rear MANTEC side window guards
Full replacement lights - some have still to be done but are all included in the sale (was replacing as needed)
Chequer plate on wingtops and snow cowl fitted to preven rain/water/snow getting into the heaters (a common Defender problem)

RAPTOR dash module installed with CB, Radio, battery/boost/oil gauges + switches and 12V sockets
Twin battery setup
Fuel gauge & temp gauge upgraded to DURITE marine gauges, battery replaced for rev counter (battery gauges in raptor dash)
Heated front seats
Shortened rear bulkhead to allow better seat position (I am over 6ft and its very comfy)
Cubby box fitted
Soundproofing & carpet just replaced, all easy to get out and clean.
Both doors have just had new window regulators fitted
Upgraded front screen washers

Alarm/immobilisers fitted, not a thatcham, more for self peace of mind
Steering lock and safeTlock pedal lock also supplied with it
There are some bad points, the battery tray will need replacing in the near future, a very easy job just one I hadn't got around to. The chassis is very solid for its age but there have been some previous patched and I dare say it will want some in the future, compared to many defenders this is well above average condition and the rear cross member won't be rusting for many many years to come! The body has the usual age related digs and dents as well as one larger dent to the OSF wing as can be seen in the pics. The interior floor panels and bulkhead are in excellent condition, the only rust being on the NS bulkhead near the hinge, this is not that bad and not caused any problems. Im sure there will be some other niggly bits I have forgotten, there are a few sunday jobs to do with this but like I say its a 23 year old land rover so is to be expected. Also if you have never driven a Defender please research a bit first, they are not luxury vehicles, they are windy, noisy and a bit cold (hence the heated seats) but they will go anywhere, any time, any weather and as a 4x4 are regarded as one of the best 4x4's!!

I would love to be able to keep this but unfortunately I need the money to finish a conservatory conversion at home. This has been a very reliable vehicle for me and I will be sorry to see it go but needs must. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I shall try to answer them for you. this is a cash on collection only auction, the vehicle is being stored at my work so viewing can be had anytime during working hours, mon-fri.

I'll be going to check my bank balance in the morning, can't really make much more comitment to it just now as I don't know how close I can come to the asking price until I see how much I've got in the bank.

Sounds like you must have too much in the bank if you don't know how much is in there :)
