Hey Folks,

New to the forum and land rovers....

Bought my first just about a month ago, 1989 110 CSW... The car is in fairly good nick for its age but the interior has seen better days.

I was looking for some advice....

Firstly the headlining is sagging bigstyle, Is it possible just to strip it, clean it, buy some new poppers and push it back into place or whats the alternatives...

The carpets have seen better days, what have you all done with your interiors? I was considering just getting some chord industrial carpet and replacing it... or using chequer plate. Does anyone have any pics of 110 interiors with these things done?

Last question.... The dash.... What have you all done about the stereo housing... my pocket tells me just to buy the single DIN case to screw to the underside of the dash.. my head tells me things like the defender MUD console. How has everone else dealt with these issues??

Sorry if these are all FAQ's..

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Have attatched a pic of my "new" landy... planned bits and pieces are steering gaurd, some spotlights and a new set of wheels... but MOT is next month and that'll be first :(

someone glued carpet to my roof , i dont have any carpets or trim what so ever from the roof down and dont i have a stereo either.
pretty sorted.:)

Hi from another newbie. I've just got a 1988 110 and the headliner was sagging and rather smelly (mould). I spend an hour ripping it out and took it to the dump. I'm happy without it now, even with the interior light wiring taped to the roof!
:)

Not sure if chequer plating the cab would be a good idea, its going to be noisy as hell in there. Might be best off using some thick carpet like you suggested, would offer better noise attenuation.

Quite a few companies make chequer plate kits for the rear load spaces- check out rebel4x4.

I'm in the same quandry as you with the dash- I've decided to go for the mudstuff dash as it offers switch placement as well. So you kill two birds with one stone. It's a complete rip off though.

Truck looks tidy from the pics : )

If you think the Mudstuff one is a rip off have a look at the Scorpian Racing one.. Over a tun for the damn thing and its just the same!

nice truck,

On my 90 i went to allied carpets and got some carpet with a white felt underlay attached and glued that to the roof and for the footwells put some duralay underlay underneath.(dont bother asking everyone else has done the jokes!!)

in the back i lined it with plywood with the underlay underneath. no noise and warm and toasty in the winter.

nice.
