I'm proud new owner of my first Landy, a 1967 2a. First job has been to strip the hubs down and replace the very manky bearings. I purchased a bearing replacement kit which included a plastic inner hub seal. I installed new bearings without a problem. I'm now struggling to get the seal to fit without using too much force. I've measured the seal and housing and it looks as though the seal is too big. Looking on Paddocks website I notice that their different seal types. Do I need the Hub Oil Seal to 80/81 OEM Leather version rather the plastic type?

Like a complete pillock I chucked the old seal in the bin. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

They do take some fitting. Keep working round it a bit at a time. Make sure its the right way round too - spring side towards the bearing. Only press it in flush, not all the way, then the lip should run in the right place.
