just acquired a series 2 station wagon, first thing I wanted to do was try the engine, connected battery under bonnet and nothing, looked under passenger seat and found another set of battery connections, so connected battery to these and still nothing not even an ignition light ,something is telling me that this might be 24volt with have two sets of connections but it still has the dynamo and I can't recall ever seeing 24 volt dynamo, any suggestions?

yes just had a thought, if 2 six volt or two twelve volt I think they would have to be connected in series usually at the side of each other, so its still a mystery why two sets of battery connections, I should get chance tomorrow to have a good look

To get the starting performance wanted for the series two diesel from the battery's of the time two 6v were fitted. With today's batts a single 12v in either position will be fine. Rewire to suit your choice.

Thought so cause that's what mine was in a previous previous life. On that anyone want the fancy key switch from it?
