110 Rebuild - what is this bracket?

I am at a point that I need to sort the bodywork into some sort of order for the rebuild. While sorting through a box of fitting for the doors, wings, bonnet, and grill, I have came across this bracket. It’s not in a bag that is labelled up from the strip down, which leads me to think I didn’t take it off. I can’t work out where it goes. I have a feeling it’s something to do with the front wings to radiator.

Anyone got any ideas? Sharpie for scale.

No idea, but you clearly need a tool cleaning day as that Sharpie is minging

It was left in “the spray booth” for a few days. It doesn’t work now.

He'll now know what that flat bit of 2' steel hinged in the middle is for now aswell.

Do you know of any photos showing the location of the bracket please? I think I have located the 3 holes it mounts to, but I don’t think it’s needed for my bonnet stay. Mine locates on the slam panel.

Is this bracket for the “flat bar” type bonnet stays??? Hence the post by @mick the builder above?

You have the one piece stay that folds to a clip under bonnet then?

Yes. I think that’s why that bracket confused me in the first place.

The solid bar stay is much better imo, it doesn’t cut off fingers or try to decapitate you
