110 prototype...?

So what do we think? Genuine 110 prototype or a 'bitsa' knocked up to be tax exempt?

If only this was closer to home, I'd be along to view like a shot. Not for prototype status but because it looks fun. Only thing that's really out of place is the snorkel. Bitsa ot not, I like it.

I'm gauging that a quick letter to BMH/Land Rover Heritage would have confirm on protype originality.

Guess it's a stage 1 with the v8 ripped out

Thing that is wrong for me as a cross over year vehicle is the position of the rear lights. Late series 3 [ 1980 on ] has already moved the indicator to the lower position. Recon the same as kermit above.

Does nay one know what the rare steering wheel being talked about is? "the vehicle will be fitted with the original rare 4 shoe wheel."

I tend to agree that is is pointing me to a stage 1 but did they do station wagon stage 1's or has someone fitted a station wagon body to stage 1?

Edit: having googled it i see they did do a station wagon version which is news to me. But it looks very similar to this one which is a bitsa: link

It should be very easy to prove however as he is claiming looking up the chassis number return that result so a quick as mentioned above a quick check with British heritage should quickly answer the question.

Not a Stage 1, it's on coil springs.
My guess is it's a bitsa, unless its VIN says otherwise. The registration number was issued in Portsmouth, which is a fair trek from Solihull.

My guess one of these.

They're not rare, nearly every Ninety and OneTen has a four spoke like that...even mine

That was my guess as well but they are not rare, they were fittted to every 90/110 up until some time in the '90's. it is what mine has fitted! i was wondering if it was something actually rare that I had not come across.
