I have seen a 1987 Landy for sale on e-bay that has had LPG fitted and was wondering if there are any problems associated with running LPG, such as maintenance or insurance or MOT problems etc. Thanks

Had my '83 110 V8 converted for 5 months now & generally very pleased with it. Insurance was no problem so long as you sent them a compliance cert from LPGA installer. Sailed through the MOT (emissions done on gas only). Doesn't like starting on gas when very cold (lot of backfires) so I normally start on petrol & flick across once the engine is warmed up. Just had a problem with petrol solenoid - installer is going to refund cost of replacement on warranty. Fuel economy a little bit worse than on petrol - but gas is about half the cost at the pump. No noticeable effect on power. Need some forefthought & planning in those bits of the UK where gas pumps are few - plenty of maps & websites available to help with this, though. Tank takes up a bit of space in the back, but is OK.
