109 van side panels onto a 1991 110

Hello all,

I have a quandary - I'm wanting to turn my beloved Acquisition from a standard size 1991 110 pick-up, in to a 110 van.
I have a 110 roof I purchased in the autumn, but no 110 sides, and I am finding it hard to find a reasonably priced pair on the usual sites.
However, I have seen a few pairs of van sides pop up that have come off a 109".

Can these be fitted without any heartache, or am I wasting valuable time?

Do you think a 109 roof will fit your pick-up?...

The sides should be the same length, the seal at the base is different to the 110, and some of the bolt holes at the top may need re-drilling.

your correct it's only the wheel base thats longer...

The roof won’t fit as the windscreen is different but the side will fit no problem. Before fitting the sides though it may be worth fitting some 109 body cappings as well. I did this with my 110 hardtop. The 109 capping are galvanised unlike the cheap defender capping which had rusted through in several spots.

Early 110's also had galvanised cappings.
