Hi Folks.
My wife drives the above vehicle. We have fitted three (3) starter motors in her in the last year and a bit. I received this note along with the latest one;-
'There are reported instances of the vehicles fitted with this starter suffering a 'kick-back' or 'backfire' when trying to start. When this occurs the starter suffers uneven force which can damage the drive end housing and/or pinion.......'
Does anyone else have any experience of this type of thing happening to their 1.8 petrol Freelander?
Better still, has anyone any knowledge of recalls regarding this potential fault?
