Hi Folks, I've started running the truck on a veg oil/diesel mix but the rubber pipes that run between the injectors keep splitting and failing... is that normal.... cheers

Yes, that is normal. Just grab a few meters from a motorfactor and keep some in the cab. You'll see it'll take a while to start as it will draw air in the system. Also, mpg will be reduced as your diesel/veg oil will spill out onto the floor!

I must have lost quarter of a tank on a 200 mile trip due to a spit pipe on the head, back of my Disco and the trailer i was towing was smothered in bio, i put the bad consumption down to towing the trailer

I got hold of some clear PVC pipe in B&Q for 99p to do a roadside repair, i did think about replacing the rubber pipes with that as it may not perish?

I bought a 2m length of the rubber stuff for £3 and carry a spare set now, plus i change them when i do a service every 5000 miles.

Mine have gone twice in 14,000 miles

You might find silicone pipe is a good gamble.

not sure silicone is good with veg,

you are better off with either viton or another option that i have used is nylon air line tube,

I think it was 6mm od and i had to heat the ends to get them on but they will never rot.

you can get loads of colours so you can match your silicon turbo hose colour.
